Learn about two intriguing styles of body therapy using aromatherapy. Kay Acuazzo and Rose Linkens describe Aroma-Slim, a targeted organic slimming therapy for hips and thighs, and Aqua-Hydrate, a body hydration treatment that utilizes pure essential oils. Both services can be performed in spas that do not have a shower element. Acuazzo demonstrates how to incorporate the two body treatments into other services such as reflexology or skin treatments to increase profits.

Kay Acuazzo is a CIDESCO diplomate. She is a spa industry leader and educator, and recipient of the Crystal Award in 2005.

Rose Linkens is a CIDESCO diplomate. She specializes in aromatherapy and holds one of the few CIDESCO aromatherapy certificates in the U.S.

The session promises to inform and instruct, as well as to consider how the skin care and spa field may evolve in the next few years.



Douglas Preston, president of Preston Incorporated, is a licensed esthetician, business consultant and frequent lecturer in the day and medical spa industry. He has been featured in television and contributes to spa trade publications. Preston has served as president of Aesthetics International Association and committee chairman for The Day Spa Association. In 2006, he was named The Day Spa Association’s “Spa Person of the Year.”

Michelle D’Allaird is the owner of the Aesthetic Science Institute in Latham, NY. She is an independent consultant and educator for skin care and cosmetology companies throughout the United States. D’Allaird is licensed in the state of New York and is an international CIDESCO diplomate. She coauthored the esthetic textbook, Salon Fundamentals.

Ben Johnson, M.D., is president and CEO of Osmosis Skincare. Dr. Johnson is an innovator in the field of medical esthetics and a consultant to both estheticians and physicians. He opened eight esthetics clinics in the U.S., is the founder of Cosmedix and is a distinguished public speaker and educator.

Dawn Tardif is the founder of BodiScience Holistic Spa in Beverly, MA. She works in the fashion and retail industry and has been featured on radio and television outlets. Tardif is well educated in Ayurveda and traditional Chinese medicine and holds degrees from the International Ayurvedic Institute and Bentley College.
